Classroom and hostel congestion is one of the problems many central schools across the country are faced with. Autsho Central School in Lhuentse is no exception.

Once complete, each hostel can accommodate 120 students. “In the future, we are looking at being able to provide boarding facility to over 500 students. Lhuentse has two central schools and parents prefer to send their children to these schools but we have not been able to take in all owing to space shortage,” said Choki, the Deputy Chief DEO of Lhuentse.
The DEO added that students graduating from six primary schools of Jarey, Meadtsho and Tsaenkhar gewogs will be enrolled in Autsho Central School once the hostels are ready. Currently, parents reluctantly send their students to Minjey Middle Secondary School and Tangmachu Central School, which are far away from Autsho.
Autsho Central School has over 470 students and 29 teaching staff.
