Dagana District Court sentenced a 48-year-old man to 11 years imprisonment for voluntary manslaughter.
According to the verdict, passed on July 4, the convict has to pay compensation of over Nu 490,000 to the husband of the deceased. The man stabbed the woman with whom he had relationship to death under the influence of alcohol.
The incident happened on 28 February, this year at Pangna Village under Drukjeygang Gewog in Dagana. The victim died on the way to Tsirang hospital.
