His Royal Highness Gyaltshab Jigme Dorji Wangchuck graced His Majesty The King’s 38th birthday celebrations in Monggar.
The celebration was held at the public ground. His Royal Highness granted tokha to the public gathered for the occasion.
His Royal Highness the Gyaltshab also graced the finals of the first-ever Gyalpoizhing Open Football Tournament.
Team Sherubtse College has won the tournament. The team defeated Druktan FC of Monggar.
The Office of the Gyaltshab in Gyalpoizhing organized the tournament and sponsored the prizes as well.
The winner, team Sherubtse College took home a cash prize of Nu 150,000. The runners-up team, Druktan FC, bagged a cash prize of Nu 100,000.
Team Samjong United from Samdrup Jongkhar came third and was awarded a cash prize of Nu 50,000.
Forty four teams from six eastern dzongkhags took part in the tournament, which kicked off on 5th of this month.
