The Bhutanese women’s cricket team defeated team Hong Kong by nine runs to win its first match of the ongoing ASEAN women’s T20 open tournament 2018 in Bangkok, Thailand.
After winning the toss Bhutan opted to bat first and set a target of 89 runs. Team Hong Kong failed to secure 10 runs out of the three balls left in the last over.
Tshering Zangmo, a debutant bagged the Player of the Match Award with crucial 15 runs and two wickets.
This is Bhutan’s first win against Hong Kong Women’s senior team. Bhutan will now face Indonesia on March 8.
