People can now avail themselves of Bank of Bhutan (BoB)’s banking services, right from the comfort of their home.
The bank launched its Tshongdrel Ngotshab or Sales Agent System to provide doorstep banking facilities to its clients yesterday. Besides representing the bank, the agents will make customers aware of all their products and services.
The Tshongdrel Ngotshabs will visit the clients at their homes and familiarise them with all BoB services. This is expected to save customers’ time and understand their needs as well.
“We realised that people are bit hesitant to visit bank because they are sometimes occupied with their official and personal engagement. So with the agents, things will be much easier,” told Pema N. Nadik, Chief Executive Officer of BoB.
He added: “The agents will then provide us the information about how people want bank services. Then we will reach out to the clients and provide services as desired by them.”
The service is also hoped to enhance financial reach and promote financial literacy. The Tshongdrel Ngotshabs will not be employees of BoB but will work on commission-basis. The bank has identified more than 80 registered sales agents across the country.
