From the beginning of April (last month) till now, Thimphu Police nabbed 45 people on various drug and tobacco related cases.
While some of them are arrested for allegedly abusing drugs and possessing tobacco products, some others are charged for illicit trafficking of controlled substances.
From the total 45 suspects, 36 were known to have abused drugs and were sent to Bhutan Narcotics Control Authority for treatment. The remaining others are expected to face trials.
Police have seized over 3,000 SP+ capsules along with 1,000 packets of baba and some marijuana products from the suspects.
