Jomotshangkha Drungkhag Court
The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) has charged 37-year-old man from Serthig Gewog in Samdrup Jongkhar with smuggling of cannabis and its products. The OAG has forwarded the case to Jomotshangkha Drungkhag Court on May 18.
The OAG states the suspect and his accomplice- who is still at large have collected 100kgs of cannabis in October 2016, and sold them to an Indian National at Nu 65,000 in December that year.
The suspect was arrested in March this year following his involvement in a battery case. The OAG requested the court to sentence the accused under third degree felony, which has a prison term from 5-9 years.
