The 35-year-old Sangay Wangchuk yet again claimed the winner’s title for Thunder Dragon Marathon under male category.
An army with the Royal Bhutan Army (RBA), Sangay Wangchuk completed 42km race in three hours and 5 minutes in Paro, today. Sangay, who took the second position, finished the race 3 minutes later.
In female category, Chimi Dema, 22, emerged triumphant for the second time. She completed the 21km marathon in 2 hours and 1 minute. Following closer to her was Tandin Lhamo, who finished the race 6 minutes later.
The running competition saw 177 participants, of which 63 were foreigners. Blue Poppy Tours and Treks organises the Thunder Dragon Marathon annually.
