Royal Bhutan Police have detained suspects for allegedly possessing a kilogram of hashish. The suspects, a Bhutanese, 44, and Indian, 29, were arrested Thursday at Namseling in Thimphu.
The police said the suspects were travelling to Phuentshogling from Bumthang to sell hashish.
In their statement to the police, the suspects said they collected hashish from Monggar where the suspect of Indian origin works.
According to Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and Substance Abuse Act, 2015, the two will be charged for illicit trafficking of Cannabis and its derivatives. They will be imprisoned for a minimum of five years if convicted.
