The Australian Ambassador to Bhutan Harinder Sidhu visited the country in May 2016, to present her credentials to His Majesty the King. While in the country, the Ambassador also opened the Visa Application Centre in the capital.
The new centre is a joint venture between Australia, UK Visas immigration and Global Visa Facilitating Service (VFS).
The Visa Application Centre will help travelers process their documents as they submit their applications online.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with BBS, Ambassador Sidhu said that Australia would be resuming the Australia awards scholarships for Bhutan from January 2017, which was discontinued in 2016 owing to Australia’s bleak economic situation.
The Ambassador also spelt out short term scholarships for Bhutanese professionals.
