A fire in at Samdrupling in Gelegphu Thromde Monday night has left eight families bereft.
The fire, which broke out around 10 PM, gutted a single storied concrete house, a temporary hut and a store.
Seven families were renting the temporary hut, while the owner was living in the concrete house.
The fire started from the store where timbers were stacked. It took three hours for the Police fire fighting team and the volunteers to put out the fire.
Electric short circuit is suspected to be the cause.
Sarpang Dzongda has handed over His Majesty’s Kidu Semso of Nu 15,000 each to the affected families and Nu 10,000 to the house owner.
