Dzongdags from all 20 districts have congregated for the Dzongdags’ conference in Thimphu, which began this morning.
The theme of the conference is: “Role of Dzongdag in Local Governance and Decentralisation.” It will discuss the implementation challenges of policies at the local level.
The central agencies are also sensitising dzongdags on new initiatives and policies which require support from the Local Government. The Department of Local Governance under Ministry of Home and Cultural Affairs organises the conference yearly. The conference ends on Wednesday.
